Dr. med. Carmen Pöhl
General Practitioner
- German
- Spanish
- English
- Norwegian
Dr. med. Carmen Pöhl is a specialist in general medicine and has been working as a family physician in southern Germany for many years. Over the years, a deep conviction has grown within her: health is more than the absence of disease — it begins much earlier, in the subtle transitions between "ill" and "well." Her focus, therefore, is on the targeted and individual strengthening of health before symptoms develop into illness.
Guided by this approach, she deepened her knowledge at the Sebastian Kneipp Academy and obtained the "Naturopathic Medicine" qualification recognised by the German Medical Association. In addition, she completed training as a certified regulation therapist with the International Society for Autonomic Functional Diagnostics and Regulation Medicine (IGAF).
In her daily work, she combines the insights of modern conventional medicine with the proven practices of naturopathy. She practises this integrative medicine as a genuine encounter with the person sitting across from her — with an eye for the whole human being, not just a symptom. She cares for patients with statutory health insurance as well as those seeking holistic, individually tailored support. Since April 2026, she has been part of the clinic's medical team. Her passion for health and vitality has its roots long before her medical career: in competitive sports. As a former épée world champion, she experienced firsthand how closely performance, health, and joy of life are intertwined. This experience also led her into research — her doctoral thesis at the University of Würzburg was dedicated to injuries and overuse damage in sport fencing. The questions of prevention and the wise use of one's own resources have stayed with her ever since and form the foundation of her strong interest in health preservation and longevity.
Her particular attention is devoted to prevention, mindful nutrition, and the support of healthy regulatory processes that keep us physically and mentally vibrant well into old age. Years spent living abroad have broadened her perspective; she speaks fluent German, English, Spanish, and Norwegian.

With the aim of building a bridge between standardized medical methods and holistic approaches, she would like to expand her knowledge as part of her work at the clinic.
She completed her doctorate in 2024 and her dissertation focused on the effects of stem cell transplantation on the immune system in the gastrointestinal tract.
